Arsenal 'paying Aubameyang in installments' despite allowing him to join Barcelona for free

It appears that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang remains on Arsenal's payroll despite joining Barcelona in the January transfer window.

According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, a tier-one source, the Gunners are still 'paying Aubameyang in installments' after terminating his contract.

The process is set to continue until the end of the 2021/22 season, which means that Arsenal will not be saving £25 million on the former captain's salary after all.
