Maguire blames rain for United's poor second-half performance against Burnley

Man United put in a real Jekyll and Hyde performance against Burnley.

Rangnick's side was fantastic in the first half and should have been 3-0 up but wasted numerous chances and led 1-0 at the break.

After the interval, their levels dropped and they couldn't reimpose themselves on the game after Burnley's equaliser.

The game ended in a disappointing draw as it should have been an easy win for United. Harry Maguire has provided an interesting explanation for United's drop-off in the second half.

"The wind picked up and rain was straight into our faces in the second half so it was tough to get the flight of the ball," the defender said, as quoted by MEN.

"For my yellow card we both misjudged it.

"It was tough conditions but we showed in the first half we can get the ball down and play and create chances so it’s no excuse to look at the conditions because we played really well in the first half and the game should be won."
