The contract talks between Ronald Araujo and Barcelona 'have been frozen', according to El Chiringuito.
The club offered the Uruguayan a salary of less than €4m per year.
Manchester United, in turn, are said to be offering him €10m annually.
Araujo's current deal with Barca runs until July 2023. In January, he will be free to discuss his future with other clubs unless he signs a contract extension.
The 22-year-old has become a regular starter for the Catalans. This season, he has made 29 appearances for Blaugrana, scoring 3 goals.
