Chelsea players who found it hard to adapt to Tuchel's system

Thomas Tuchel has had instant success during his time at Chelsea, winning the Champions League, Super Cup and Club World Cup.

He's got the Chelsea squad working like a well oiled machine in terms of performances for the most part. There have been individual player though, that have struggled to adapt at different points in time with either Tuchel's system or the Premier League in general.

Romelu Lukaku
Lukaku's controversial comments last year sent his second spell at the club into a bit of a mess as he never really hit form, struggled with injuries and has been the second-choice option for Tuchel and continues to be linked with a move away.

Tammy Abraham
He was one of the casualties of Tuchel's regime as the striker could never really hold down his spot in the starting XI even when he was the top scorer in the squad at one point. Tuchel preferred others such as Kai Havertz for his system and Tammy finally thought it better to make a move away.

Timo Werner
One could argue that Werner never really got started at Chelsea even before Tuchel arrived. Even so, it was the case with Havertz too, but he's starting o get into form with each passing game. The same cannot be said for his German counter-part as his lack of form as well as playing time seems to make him seek a move away.

Ziyech
Ziyech has recently stated that even he has found it difficult to adapt to Tuchel's system, which is largely down to his inexperience in playing with five at the back. Ziyech is in good form though and if he stays injury-free he could be a big player for Chelsea.

Saul
Saul has been another player that found it hard to adapt to Tuchel's system as his first season at Chelsea has been an inconsistent one. Kovacic and Kante are preferred to the Spanish midfielder but with some more Premiership experience this signing could yet come good if made permanent.
