Erik ten Hag remains firmly in the race to succeed Ralf Rangnick at Old Trafford, according to Fabrizio Romano, a tier-one source.
It was reported last week that Mauricio Pochettino has emerged as the leading candidate to take over but no decision has been made just yet.
Apparently, Manchester United are interested in Ten Hag's 'level of English' as they continue to evaluate potential candidates ahead of the transfer window.
The Red Devils want to make sure that the Ajax boss (who is is Dutch) is 'making progress on this point' as it's customary for Premier League managers to speak fluent English.
