As per tier-one journalist Fabrizio Romano, AS Roma are willing to extend Henrikh Mkhitaryan's contract which will expire this June.
Instead of losing for free, the Serie A giants want to 'open talks' over a new deal following the player's improvement under Jose Mourinho.
Negotiations will happen over the coming week, with the club hoping to reach an agreement before the end of April.
The former Manchester United midfielder, 33, has played 28 league games this term, scoring four goals and assisting five so far.
