Erik ten Hag 'top candidate' to become next Man United manager

According to tier-one Dutch reporter Mike Verweij of De Telegraaf, Erik ten Hag has become the 'top candidate' to take charge of Manchester United permanently at the end of the season.

The 52-year-old has already been interviewed by senior figures at Old Trafford, with the latter believed to be impressed.

Although United were looking at other options like Luis Enrique and Mauricio Pochettino, it appears Ten Hag is winning the race.

The reporter further adds that the Red Devils would need to pay Ajax a €2 million fee as Ten Hag's release clause.

Meanwhile, reports have claimed there are two other clubs interested in the Dutchman ahead of the summer transfer window.
