Klopp calls on BT Sports and Premier League to change Newcastle match timing

Liverpool will have to travel to Newcastle United on Saturday for a noon kick-off. Just before this, on April 28, the Reds have to travel to Spain for a late game on Wednesday evening against Villareal.

Jurgen Klopp called on the Premier League and broadcaster BT Sports to change the Newcastle game's timing: "I don’t understand it. I can understand that people want to see a football match between Liverpool and Newcastle but I don’t see why any team should have an advantage or a disadvantage.

"The league and the broadcaster really have to try at least to help. We will see. I haven’t heard anything yet. Nobody from BT contacted me yet.

"But I’d say common sense would tell you that it's probably the right thing to do to move the game slightly backwards."

Liverpool are in the hunt for both the Premier League and the Champions League so you can understand Klopp's annoyance. Hopefully, a solution is reached soon.
