Koeman: 'When I left Barca, they were 8 points behind Real Madrid. Now they're 16 points behind'

"Xavi has surely improved some things [at Barca]. They've bought three players who can play up front," Ronald Koeman has told the media, as per Marca.

"It's not good to compare me to him. When I left, Barcelona were 8 points behind Real Madrid, and now they are almost twice as far behind. It's not good to compare," the Dutchman added.

Clearly, this comparison doesn't make sense indeed since Koeman left Barcelona in the first half of the season when the gaps between teams weren't huge in general.

The bigger gap between Barca and Real Madrid says more about Carlo Ancelotti side's consistency than about Xavi as a coach.
