Man United to 'defy' players by appointing Erik ten Hag amid rumours of squad clear-out

As per Samuel Luckhurst of the MEN, a reliable source with insider information, Manchester United are not worried about 'defying' players to appoint Erik ten Hag over Mauricio Pochettino.

The players reportedly want the PSG manager to take charge but the club are close to bringing in Ten Hag.

The entire squad has under-performed at best in 2021/22 and should not have a say in who replaces Ralf Rangnick at the helm.

Luckhurst further adds that United 'did not consult' the players before finalising the decision to appoint Ten Hag - which is how it should be.

Multiple top sources, including the reliable Fabrizio Romano, have confirmed that it's only a matter of time before Ten Hag is officially announced.

The new manager will also have full autonomy in shaping the squad, which includes a massive clear-out this summer.
