Xavi jokingly calls out journalist who once said he hadn't beaten big teams

"Now Villarreal are a big team right? And we beat them. Yesterday made me think that La Liga is not so bad, eh?" Xavi has said, talking to a journalist who once claimed he hadn't beaten big teams before – including Villarreal.

"Yesterday makes me think that La Liga isn't that far from the Premier League. At the moment there are two Spanish teams in the Champions League semifinals," the Barca boss added.

Both Real Madrid and Villarreal have advanced to the Champions League semifinals. Atletico Madrid could be the third side to do it if they beat Manchester City.

The reporter's claim about Xavi being unable to big teams surely makes no sense any more. Under the new Barca manager, the Catalans have already defeated teams like Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Sevilla, Napoli and others.
