Celta Vigo forward Santi Mina sentenced to 4-year prison term for sexual abuse

Celta Vigo striker Santi Mina has been sentenced after being found guilty of sexually abusing a woman in 2017.

The Court of Almeria convicted the Spaniard of sexual abuse and has sentenced him to serve 4 years in prison.

Mina has also been served with a restraining order against the victim for 12 years and fined €50,000.

The 26-year-old was accused of committing the crime in a camper van in 2017.

Mina’s lawyers have confirmed that they will appeal the sentencing in an attempt to overturn the decision.

Celta Vigo have already announced that they have suspended Mina after the conviction.

Santi made 36 appearances for Celta this season, scoring 9 goals and registering 5 assists.
