The Telegraph have a worrying update for all Chelsea fans.
The newspaper cites 'some sources' as saying that the Blues could be 'expelled from playing in the Premier League' if the takeover is not complete by the end of May.
The government license the club operates under expires on May 31 and it will not be extended.
The fears of the delay are caused by Sir Jim Ratcliffe's late bid. The Boehly consortium had been on track to complete the takeover but Ratcliffe launched a bid to hijack the process.
The Boehly consortium have been selected as the preferred bidders by the Raine Group and are preparing legal documentation to complete the takeover.
