Chelsea U23 Coach Myers Moved Into Loan Player Technical Coach

The former Blues defender will join the loans department, working closely with players and providing regular match feedback.

Myers has spent over a decade coaching in Chelsea's youth development programme, leading the Under-15 age group before moving up to assist with the Under-21s and Under-19s. He was part of the backroom team that helped secure consecutive triumphs in the UEFA Youth League and a league title for the Under-21s in 2013/14.

In 2016/17, he spent a season in a coaching role at Vitesse Arnhem as the Dutch side claimed the first major honour in their history by winning the KNVB Cup. He then returned to Cobham to assist Joe Edwards with the development squad before moving into a head coach role with the Under-18s and guiding the young Blues to a third-place league finish.

After being promoted to development squad head coach in the summer of 2019, Myers masterminded an unbeaten league campaign which ended with the team being crowned Premier League 2 winners for the first time in the competition's short history.

During his playing career at Stamford Bridge, Myers made over 100 senior appearances, winning the Chelsea Young Player of the Year in 1991 before going on to help them to success in the FA Cup and UEFA Cup Winners' Cup.
