Departing Watford Manager Roy Hodgson Not Ruling Out Football Return

Hodgson will be replaced by Rob Edwards after Sunday's game with Chelsea.

“I think it's time to move on, but at the same time I don't want to say I will never have anything to do with football again because there might be somebody who comes to me and asks me to do something which I could quite happily do," Hodgson said.

On how he thinks he'll feel at Chelsea on the final day, he added: “I'm sure there will be a moment when you think, 'This is it. I won't be coming to Stamford Bridge again and sitting in the dugout and enjoying the game from that sort of close position.'"

And on if this really is it for his time as a manager, Hodgson concluded: “I did it now for Watford [coming out of retirement], but I'd be saying to myself, 'You shouldn't be looking to do that again' and I'll be telling myself, 'If ever you do get romantic notions about how nice it would be to go and coach a team again, make certain you remember the negatives that come with that'."
