'He's Been A Disgrace This Year': Paul Scholes On Cavani

Speaking to Premier League Productions, Paul Scholes said: "Edinson Cavani I think was a disgrace this year, he hardly ever played.

"He pulled out of the Middlesbrough [in the FA Cup in February] game because he had to travel back from wherever he was.

"Funnily enough, since that Middlesbrough game I think Manchester United have won only five out of 18 games or something.

"It's been embarrassing, this manager now needs backing. Who's going to help him do that? The club upstairs is still a bit of a mess, we don't really know."

Cavani was convinced to stay for one additional year last summer but everything changed following Cristiano Ronaldo's arrival on transfer deadline day.

The veteran striker has hardly featured all season, frequently declaring himself not fit in the second half of the campaign in order to avoid injuries.
