Idrissa Gueye Told By FFF To Wear PSG Shirt With LGBT Colors And End Homophobia Accusations

PSG midfielder Idrissa Gueye has landed himself in hot water after refusing to wear his side's customized kit with LGBT colours during their game against Montpellier at the weekend.

Now, the French Football Federation’s Ethics Council has told him to appear in front of them and address the situation.

The FFF has urged Gueye to send them a picture of him wearing that customized PSG kit with LGBT colours to end accusations of homophobia.

The FFF said in a statement: “one of two things, either these assumptions are unfounded and we invite you without delay to express yourself to silence these rumours. For example, we invite you to accompany your message with a photo of you wearing the jersey in question.

“Either these rumours are correct. In this case, we ask you to be aware of the scope of your gesture and the very serious error committed. The fight against the discrimination to which the different minorities are subject, whatever they may be, is essential and constant.

“ Whether it is skin colour, religion, sexual orientation, or any other difference, all forms of discrimination are based on the same basis, which is the rejection of others because they are different from most.

“By refusing to participate in this collective operation, you are validating discriminatory behaviour, the refusal of the other, and not only against the LGBTQI + community.”
