Manchester City Are The Premier League Champions 2021/22 Season

Manchester City has been crowned the champions of England after a hard-fought 3 -2 victory against Aston Villa in the final game of the 2021/22 Premier League season.

The reigning champion withstood an almighty shock after falling two goals behind but mounted an amazing second-half comeback, and two goals from Ilkay Gundogan and another from Rodri secured a win and the title.

Jurgen Klopp's Live are pool entered the last day one point behind Pep Guardiola's City, and despite coming from behind to beat Wolves 3-1, they fell just short.

The city's last-day heroics sparked massive celebration at the Etihad Stadium. For Liverpool, the result meant their outside chance of securing a quadruple of League Cup, FA Cup, Premier League, and Champions League was impeded.

The 2021-22 triumph caps an extraordinary six Premier League titles in 11 years for City, and with Guardiola having signed a new contract, and the summer arrival of Norwegian superstar Erling Haaland, their rivals will find it tough to catch them shortly.

Manchester City's stunning victory over Aston Villa on the final day was their 29th win of the EPL season, while they drew six games and lost just three.

The only other clubs that have amassed more points in a Premier League campaign are Liverpool - in 2019/20 and 2018/19 - and - Chelsea in 2004/05 and 2016/17.

But City still holds the all-time Premier League record after claiming 100 points when they won the title in the 2017/18 season.
