Marcelo: 'I Love The Club, I Love Our Fans ... I Finish My Journey At Madrid

“This is an unbelievable emotion because like I said before, this was my last game as a Real Madrid player," Marcelo told Cadena SER after the Champions League final.

"I’m leaving Real Madrid and to leave this club while winning a Champions and being the most decorated player in the history of the club gives me immense joy.

"It’s not a sad day, it’s a happy day.

"I spent many years here, many magical nights at the Bernabeu and obviously this is something that makes me and mi family very proud."

The iconic defender made 546 appearances for Madrid since joining the club in 2006. He won 25 titles with the Whites.

Marcelo then further shared his plans during a speech he made at Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday at Madrid's trophy parade.

"I love this club, I love our fans. This is the best club in the world," he said.

"I am very happy, I'm satisfied. I finish my journey in Madrid as a player but I will be part of this club surely because this is my life. I'll play for a while and then I will return here."

So Marcelo is not retiring, with a return to Brazil reportedly on cards. But we'll welcome the legend back as a part of the coaching staff, scouting or management teams!
