"Karim came up to me and asked if I wanted to take the penalty [v Man City] to score the hat-trick. And of course, with the season he's having, the least I could do is say, 'No, you should take it, Karim'," Rodrygo has told the media, as per Bleacher Report.
Karim Benzema actually offered Rodrygo the opportunity to complete his hat-trick at a crucial moment of the game. The Frenchman ended up taking the penalty and making it 3-1 for Real Madrid.
Rodrygo has scored 17 goals for the Whites, 10 of them in the Champions League which is definitely his 'favourite' competition.
