Ronaldo 'tells teammates' he wants to stay at United next season

Cristiano Ronaldo has made it clear to his Man United teammates that he doesn’t have any plans on leaving the club next season, claims the Sun.

The Portuguese forward wants to stay and work with Erik ten Hag and will only leave if he’s pushed out by the management.

A United source told The Sun: “Ronaldo told the players he’s not going anywhere unless the club say they don’t want him. No one is more disappointed than him about how the season has panned out.

“But he doesn’t want to leave on a low and wants to help get the club back into the Champions League and try and win a trophy next year.

“However, he has told them if the new boss wants to go in a different direction, then he will have no hard feelings and has no regrets about coming back to Old Trafford.”

Erik ten Hag is yet to say anything about whether or not he wants to keep Ronaldo in his squad next season. The Dutchman is likely to sign a new centre-forward to revitalize United’s attack and get more goals for the team next season.

Cristiano has reportedly been urged by Sir Alex Ferguson to stay and protect his legacy at Old Trafford, something which it looks like he’ll agree on.
