'We didn't need any points tonight': Ancelotti shares his plan ahead of Champions League final

"We didn't need points today [against Atletico Madrid]. We needed to rest the main players and let the ones who have played less play," Carlo Ancelotti has told Movistar.

"Our priority right now is to avoid physical problems. That's why we will rotate a lot. That's the priority. We will rotate all the players in these La Liga games. We have time to recover and be ready for the final on May 28.

"We will start working on the Champions League final after the Cadiz game [May 15]. We will have two weeks before the game," the Italian boss concluded.

Carlo Ancelotti fielded a rotated squad against Atletico Madrid, but it almost stole points from Diego Simeone's side in the second half.

Next up, Real Madrid take on Levante on May 12.
