Mundo Deportivo's Gabriel Sans reports that Barcelona have received Jules Kounde's personal approval for the transfer.
However, the problem is that Sevilla has refused Barca's offer of players as they want cash only. Their asking price for the 23-year-old centre-back is €65m.
Meanwhile, Kalidou Koulibaly would cost the Catalans around €35-40m. He is Blaugrana's plan B.
As per previous reports, Xavi sees Kounde as the perfect partner for Ronald Araujo. Barca might be able to afford the French defender after activating the economic levers.
