Benfica reject chance to sign Martial in Darwin Nunez swap deal

Man United offered Benfica the chance to take Anthony Martial for them in a cash plus swap deal for Darwin Nunez, as per local Portuguese outlet Terceiro Anel.

The Red Devils were ready to give them around a £64M transfer fee as well as the forward to tempt them into accepting the offer.

But, the Portuguese club turned down the move as they are not keen on signing the Frenchman.

Martial himself is also not willing to join Benfica and showed no interest in allowing himself to be included in the deal.

The Portuguese club are playing hard ball on their valuable forward and could demand as much as £100m to let him go.

With the likes of Liverpool, PSG, and Chelsea all circling around Nunez, United probably has to move fast to secure his signing in the summer.
