Dutch football expert warns Ten Hag to prepare for 'culture shock' in the Premier League

Speaking on talkSPORT radio, Dutch football expert Marcel van der Kraan said: "I think Erik ten Hag will have to adapt. That's been my main objection to Dutch managers going to England.

"You don't know what the Premier League is about until you get there. I think every continental manager who's never played in England gets a culture shock once he gets there.

"That has been the problem for Louis van Gaal as well. Van Gaal is a great coach, he has got loads of funny habits and he has a very outspoken Dutch way of dealing with the media.

"He's a good coach but he wasn't the right man for Manchester United. He wanted to be too Dutch but you can't be too Dutch. I hope Ten Hag has learned from that and he's seen that and he will adapt easier."

Van Gaal, known for his outspoken personality, frequently clashed with the media during his spell at Old Trafford. At one time, the Dutchman even called one of the reporters 'a fat man'.

Ten Hag, on the other hand, is clearly taking a different approach. The 52-year-old made impression in his first Man United press conference as he looks to build a relationship with the British media.
