'I'll Be A Starter Even If You Sign The World's Best Centre-back': Pique Brags To Laporta

Joan Laporta has met with Gerard Pique to explain Barcelona's need to sign a big central defender.

Pique's response to Laporta according to Onze TV3's Cavi Valls was: "I'll be a starter. If you have the guts, bring the best central defender in the world, he will only be a substitute."

Barcelona are sizing up a move for Jules Kounde or Kalidou Koulibaly. It's reported that Barca have already agreed to bring Andreas Christensen to Camp Nou.

The arrival of a new centre-back will relegate 35-year-old Pique to the bench. Although the Spaniard strongly refuses to agree to that notion.
