Joan Laporta Confirms Busquets Has Accepted Second Pay Cut

Speaking during his trip to Switzerland, Barcelona president Joan Laporta said: "The issue with Busquets is all solved, it was a confusion and I have already talked about it with him."

This is the second time Busquets will be accepting a pay cut to help the club after doing the same in January 2021 to allow the club to register their new signings.

Barcelona are installing a 50 per cent cut on their first team players, a move that hasn't gone down well with some players.

However, Busquets, a Barca captain has led by example in this instance.

The skipper will now take home €5,280,000 in 2023, which is only 50 per cent of what he would've earned without a pay cut.
