Jules Kounde has reached an agreement to sign for Chelsea, according to reliable Spanish sources with Diario AS.
The defender wanted to play for Barcelona, but Chelsea moved first for him and turned his head.
Also, Barcelona did not have the financial resources to fund the transfer despite indicating an interest in the player.
The 23-year-old's move to Chelsea is now taken for granted as his signing is expected to happen soon.
Kounde is highly rated for his versatility and technical ability in defence. His signing could cost the Blues up to £90m.
