Speaking to French channel BFM TV, Kylian Mbappe explained: "Paris Saint-Germain is important to me!
"Maybe I didn't have enough time to be romantic enough with the fans.
"I wanted to perform first, but this club means a lot to me, everyone knows that."
Mbappe was strongly linked with a free transfer to Real Madrid for over a year. However, he performed a u-turn in the end by signing a bumper new contract with PSG instead.
As part of the new deal, the Frenchman will receive €1 million in weekly wages for as long as plays there. In addition, he also pocketed €350 million in a signing-on bonus.
