Lukaku was offended by Chelsea's New Year tweet as his face was barely visible
The Athletic has some inside details on how Romelu Lukaku's relationship with Chelsea deteriorated over the course of the 2021/22 season.
On January 1, the club's official Twitter account posted a message wishing fans a happy New Year.
Romelu's face is barely visible (to the left from Kante). The Belgian was offended by this and it contributed to his desire to leave Stamford Bridge.
His loan move back to Internazionale was confirmed on Wednesday.
