Man United 'disregard' transfers recommended by scouts to focus on Erik ten Hag's shortlist

According to Samuel Luckhurst of the Manchester Evening News, a reliable source, Manchester United have a clear strategy they want to stick to in the summer transfer window.

The window opened on June 10 and United are yet to finalise any new arrivals. Pre-season training begins on June 27 and it would have been ideal if at least a couple of players had joined.

The MEN understands that United are 'disregarding' player recommendations from scouts and have fully committed to the shortlist of names selected by Erik ten Hag.

Earlier, we'd reported that Ten Hag believes Frenkie de Jong is worth every penny, which explains why United will return with a new bid after the first one was rejected by Barcelona.

Christian Eriksen is also among Ten Hag's targets, with the Dutch boss eager to sign a few free agents amid budget constraints.

The MEN adds that United usually have a list of their transfer targets ready by January but it took longer this time as Ten Hag was appointed only towards the end of April.
