Napoli Chief De Laurentiis: We Won't Break Bank To Keep Mertens, Koulibaly

Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis says they won't "break the bank" to keep their best players.

Dries Mertens' deal expires this month, while Kalidou Koulibaly's contract has a year to run.

"If they want to stay, it depends on them, but we can't break the bank," said De Laurentiis.

“I respect those two players, but one must understand if they are only interested in money or if they want to stay in a dressing room and in an environment that has given them satisfaction.

“If Milan win spending €40m less than us, it means that we went off the grid. I didn't criticise the coach when we lost games that we could have won because he made us win matches that we could have lost."
