OFFICIAL: Fabio Vieira joins Arsenal from FC Porto

Arsenal have confirmed the transfer of midfielder Fabio Vieira from FC Porto on a long-term contract.

The Portuguese side have previously stated that the transfer fee was €35 million plus €5 million in potential add-ons.

According to transfer insider Pedro Sepulveda, the 22-year-old Portugal international will earn a salary of £46,000-a-week at the Emirates.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said: "I am very excited that we have identified and signed such a special talent. Fabio is a very creative player that will bring high quality and versatility to our attacking play.

"We welcome Fabio and his family to our club and are looking forward to starting work with him ahead of the new season."
