Revealed: Erik Ten Hag's Possible 'first-choice' Centre-back Pairing For 2022/23

According to The Guardian, a tier-two source, Erik ten Hag would like to persist with Harry Maguire and Raphael Varane as our first-choice centre-back pairing in 2022/23.

While Varane was plagued by injuries last season, Maguire had an inconsistent season as he faced the ire of supporters for his carelessness in front of goal.

The Guardian adds that Manchester United are indeed open to adding defensive reinforcements this summer. Whoever is brought in would only act as back-up for Maguire and Varane.

Ten Hag is also reportedly happy to have Victor Lindelof as an option for centre-back but will allow Eric Bailly, Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe to be sold this summer.
