Not an urgent situation btw, as current deal expires in June 2024.
The club has had their hands tied for a few months now, since the UK government imposed sanctions on the club, preventing them from signing new contracts with players.
It is not clear from Romano's statements, if Mount had been expecting a contract even before the sanctions were imposed.
Regardless, having Mount and Reece James sign a new deal is just as important as signing new players this summer.
