Barcelona will consider the option of selling Ter Stegen if Frenkie De Jong refuses to leave or lower his salary, according to Spanish journalist Tono Garcia (a tier 2 source).
The German goalie was not at his best during the past season and conceded as many goals as matches - 34 goals conceded in 34 La Liga games.
In all competitions last term, Ter Stegen conceded 57 goals in 47 matches for Barcelona.
Still, he remains one of Barca's highest earners with a salary of around €9m per season.
Offloading him will create room in Barca's salary structure and give Inaki Pena the chance to become Barca's first-choice goalie.
