De Jong 'Very Unlikely' To Reduce Salary To Continue At Barca: Fabrizio Romano
The scenario in which Frenkie de Jong reduces his salary in order to continue at Barcelona is 'very unlikely, the ever-reliable Fabrizio Romano (5 stars) claims. That's despite Frenkie's priority being to continue at Camp Nou.
Romano adds that Manchester United and Barca already have an agreement regarding a €65m fixed fee for the midfielder. They are currently discussing the terms of the €20m add-ons.
Man United are yet to open direct talks with Frenkie.
As per reports in Spain, De Jong will have a salary of €40m starting with this season, which would make him the best-paid player at the club. Barca would consider keeping him only if he drastically reduced his wages.
