Edin Dzeko offered to Real Madrid as 'Benzema's backup'

Edin Dzeko has been offered to Real Madrid as a potential backup for Karim Benzema, as per SER's Anton Meana.

Dzeko is a quality striker but he's way past his prime, which is why Real Madrid did not consider the offer.

The Bosnian scored 17 goals for Inter Milan last season, but at 36, it would be a gamble to bet on the lanky striker.

On the one hand, the striker presents a lot of experience and finishing technique and could be good to beef up the squad.

It must be noted that Dzeko's market value stands at just €4m.
