Joe Gomez has told Liverpool that he wants to stay at the club and will be looking to sign a long-term contract, as per Paul Joyce.
The defender made his intentions known to the club upon returning for pre-season training and Liverpool will be looking to tie him down with a 5-year-deal.
As per David Maddock of The Mirror, the board have sanctioned contract talks with the 25-year-old and Klopp is keen on keeping him.
Gomez wants to stay and fight for more regular game time in the Liverpool backline.
