Mundo Deportivo reported - citing British media - that Real Madrid considered signing Timo Warner on loan. Chelsea want to offload the German striker this summer, and the Merengues consider him as a decent backup to Karim Benzema.
However, top source Mario Cortegana claims that there is 'nothing at the moment' between Madrid and Werner.
Benzema's current backups are Borja Mayoral and Mariano. The former is set to be offloaded to Getafe, while the latter is transfer listed as well.
The coach also tried playing Eden Hazard in the false nine position this summer, but the first impression wasn't necessarily positive.
