OFFICIAL: Rafa Marquez announced as new Barca Atletic coach

Barcelona have confirmed the arrival of Rafa Marquez at the club. The Mexican will coach Barca Atletic, formerly known as Barca B.

Marquez has signed a contract until 2024. He starts his work on July 15 when the youngsters arrive for their medical check-ups. On July 16, he will carry out his first training session.

The coaching position at Barca Atletic became vacant after Sergi Barjuan was relocated within the club.

Following his retirement in 2018, Marquez served as the sporting director of Atlas for a year and then moved to Spain to coach Alcala's youth team.

As a player, Rafa spent seven seasons at Camp Nou. He made 242 appearances and scored 13 goals, helping the team win 12 titles.
