Cristiano Ronaldo has intimated his desire to leave Manchester United should a good offer present itself. If he does end up leaving the club this summer, here's a list of potential strikers Erik ten Hag could replace him with.
Ten Hag is used to working with a target-man like Haller in the striker or centre-forward position so we will be looking at players who fit the bill.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Although he missed half of last season with injury, Calvert-Lewin's absence was undeniably felt at Everton, with the club barely ensuring safety at the back end of last season.
Before last season he scored 16 goals in 33 games in the Premier League playing for a very average Everton side. His pace, power and aerial ability is definitely something ETH could work with.
Victor Osimhen
The Nigerian striker has often been likened to Drogba, Eto'o and Lukaku due to his immense pace and strength. His late runs into the box and impressive jumping allow him to tower over defenders to power headers into the net.
Osimhen scored 18 goals and notched 6 assists in 32 games across all competitions for Napoli in the last season. At 23-years-old, the player definitely has the potential to become a serious goal-scorer.
Patrik Schick
His claim to fame was his incredible goal at the last Euros, scoring an incredible half-line goal for Czech Republic but that's only a glimpse of what he's capable of.
He's coming off the back of incredible season with Bayer Leverkusen, scoring 24 goals in 27 league games. Schick is 26 though, so he'd hitting his prime years soon enough, which means his value would sky-rocket if he continues on his current trajectory. Definitely one to watch for Ten Hag.
Jonathan David
David's your typical fox-in-the-box but with an added advantage of having blistering speed. He scored 15 goals in 38 league games for Lille last season and at 22 years of age, he's got a high potential ceiling.
Great off-the-ball movement, ability to score with either feet and being good in the air would potentially make him a good fit in a Ten Hag team.
Gianluca Scamacca
Samacca is another highly rated striker from the Italian league who scored scored 16 league goals last season. At 6 feet 4 inches, he cuts a towering figure and becomes a problem for any defence to deal with.
He doesn't mind getting into physical tussles, in fact relishes it, and has excellent judgement when it comes to the flight of the ball. He's the typical target man and can finish with incredible power and precision.
