"Florentino Perez knows football. What he said about me, gives me a lot of joy. On the day I signed, I sent him a video of me singing the Real Madrid anthem and he could not believe it, he loved it," Rodrygo said in his interview with ABC.
The 21-year-old also confirmed that he will be extending his contract at the club: "I've been here for three years and I'm going to renew. Real Madrid is my dream."
As per previous reports, Rodrygo will sign a new contract until 2028 on improved terms. He rejected offers from multiple top clubs to continue at the Santiago Bernabeu.
In the 2021/22 season, Rodrygo was an important player, recording 9 goals and 10 assists in 49 matches for Madrid. Although he wasn't a regular starter a times, his love for the club might have been what kept him motivated.
