United ready to let Ronaldo leave on loan - but under one condition

Man United are ready to let Cristiano Ronaldo go this summer, but only on a loan deal, according to the Mirror.

Moreover, the club also wants Ronaldo to trigger a one-year extension option in his contract with United so that he could return to Old Trafford - if United qualify for the Champions League, of course.

The 37-year-old and his agent Jorge Mendes have been taken by surprise when they were delivered this proposal. They have not rejected it out of hand, though.

Ronaldo wants to keep playing in the Champions League which is claimed to be the main reason why he wants to leave United this summer.

Atletico Madrid have emerged as the frontrunners - but they will have to offload a high earner of their own, most likely Antoine Griezmann.
