Speaking during his press conference for the UEFA Super Cup, Carlo Ancelotti was asked which player could replace Karim Benzema at Real Madrid.
"He's irreplaceable right now," Ancelotti replied. "But we have Rodrygo, Asensio and Hazard," the gaffer added.
The Italian tactician doesn't even mention Mariano. It's no longer secret that Ancelotti plans to use any of the aforementioned players as a false 9 to backup Benzema - particularly Hazard.
Real Madrid are on the hunt for six trophies this season starting with the Super Cup against Eintracht Frankfurt later on Wednesday.
