Chelsea ready to bid €80m for De Jong, opening path to Bernardo Silva signing

Chelsea are prepared to offer €80m for Frenkie de Jong, Diario Sport claims. Barcelona are likely to accept the bid if it arrives, having previously agreed to sell the midfielder to United for this fee.

Selling the Dutchman would pave the way for Bernardo Silva to join the Catalans. Barca would have enough money in their pockets to land the Man City man.

However, Frenkie still doesn't want to leave Camp Nou, reliable David Ornstein reports. It leads to what he calls a 'messy situation'.

Unlike United, Chelsea play in the Champions League so perhaps the Blues would convince De Jong to move to Stamford Bridge.
