'Do your research': Ten Hag sets reporters straight when asked about Cristiano Ronaldo leaving early

During his latest media briefing, Erik ten Hag was pressed by reporters on Cristiano Ronaldo leaving the Rayo Vallecano friendly early.

The Manchester United boss replied: "What do you mean?

"Now I have to point, those who left, they were many players who left but the spotlight is on Cristiano, that is not right.

"So do your research and make out many players left, that was what was said. I don't understand what is the relation, he was part of it.

"There were a lot of players [who left early].

"You mention it [that it is unacceptable], you correct them, then move on."

Ten Hag made it clear that he didn't like the fact that players left early before the final whistle.

With Anthony Martial ruled out because of an injury, Ronaldo is expected to start when we face Brighton this Sunday.

The 37-year-old has played just one half in pre-season and is reportedly trying to leave United before the August 31 deadline.
