'He's a cheat code': Stat shows Nunez's massive impact in Fulham draw

Darwin Nunez was a game-changer for Liverpool in their opening day 2-2 draw against Fulham on Saturday.

The striker was brought on for Roberto Firmino in the 51st when the Reds were down 1-0. Up until that point, Liverpool had accumulated an xG (expected goals tally) of just 0.10.

They finished the game with an xG of 2.34, with Nunez alone accounting for 1.70 of that. Incidentally, that was more than what Erling Haaland (1.59) managed in 30 more minutes of playing time.

Take a look at the game chart and how the xG increased after Nunez came on and provided a direct goalscoring threat:

xG Philosophy, who estimate these values, wrote: "If he keeps going at his current rate, Darwin Nüñez will accumulate 148.97(xG) this season."

Of course, we can't expect that to happen but the early signs here are very good. As one Liverpool fan wrote on Twitter: "Nunez is a cheat code" - we can't disagree!
