Multiple credible sources are claiming that Barcelona have successfully registered Jules Kounde for La Liga.
However, that comes as a surprise given that Barca have not sold any player and would still pay a major part of Samuel Umtiti's salary.
According to reports in Spain, Barcelona presented their case for Kounde on three occasions to Javier Tebas-led La Liga. But their requests were flat-out rejected.
Barca then threatened to take the matter to court to force La Liga's hand. The Blaugrana stood their ground claiming that four levers were enough to register all their players - with an income of more than €800m.
La Liga finally soft-pedalled at the last minute and will officially register the 23-year-old for the league at any moment.
Kounde is expected to make his La Liga debut for Barca against Real Valladolid.
