Probable Line-Ups: Lazio vs Inter, Immobile And Inzaghi Meet Again

Simone Inzaghi returns to the Stadio Olimpico to face his former club Lazio and looks to Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku up front.

It kicks off at 19.45 UK time. The Nerazzurri have collected six points in the opening two Serie A games, but lost this fixture at the Stadio Olimpico last season.

Maurizio Sarri can rely on full squad, but has a few doubts in midfield, attack and goal. Matias Vecino is favourite over Toma Basic, while Mattia Zaccagni should start over Pedro and Ivan Provedel could be picked between the sticks after Luis Maximiliano was sent off six minutes into his first-ever Serie A game two weeks ago.

Ciro Immobile starts up front for Lazio. He scored 149 goals in 217 appearances under Inzaghi at the Stadio Olimpico. The Nerazzurri coach said on Thursday that he hopes the Italy striker ‘takes a break’ against Inter tonight.

Lazio sealed a victory in the opening home Serie A game against Bologna and haven’t won the first two Serie A matches at the Olimpico since 2015-16.

The Biancocelesti had 67% shots on target in the first two games of the season, the most accurate in Serie A so far. Inter are second with 57%.

Simone Inzaghi is without the injured Henrikh Mkhitaryan and could pick Roberto Gagliardini over Hakan Calhanoglu tonight. Doubts on the wings, where Federico Dimarco is favourite over Robin Gosens and Denzel Dumfries is battling it out for a starting spot with Matteo Darmian.

Inter could score more than a goal in each one of the opening three Serie A games for the first time in history. They have won three away games in a row and have never managed four since Simone Inzaghi is in charge.

Lazio-Inter: probable line-ups

Lazio (4-3-3): Provedel; Lazzari, Patric, Romagnoli, Marusic; Milinkovic-Savic, Cataldi, Vecino; F Anderson, Immobile, Zaccagni.

Inter (3-5-2): Handanovic; Skriniar, De Vrij, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Brozovic, Gagliardini, Dimarco; Lautaro, Lukaku.
